GRAPHIC DESIGN
Graphic design is a profession, academic discipline, and applied art whose activity consists in projecting visual communications intended to transmit specific messages to social groups, with specific objectives. Graphic design is an interdisciplinary branch of design and of the fine arts. Our graphic design curriculum uses Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. It also uses After Effects for Motion graphics as well as creates printed Zines. AHS graphic design curriculum is taught in the first year of the AME pathway during the second semester after photography. This allows students to use and create original, ethical and professional layouts in photoshop and illustrator with little pulling from internet sources just like professionals do. It prepares them for moving images and animation as well as layouts in journalism and yearbook.
